Elissa Benson- Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist MCSP Elissa qualified from Leeds School of Physiotherapy, quickly gaining a passion for Adult Neurology in which she then chose to specialise. She has worked in several NHS settings both in the north and south of England gaining a wealth of experience in both acute and long term management before moving into private practice. An on-going commitment to training means she is an Advanced Bobath practitioner and has completed PD Warrior training to level 2. Her professional goal was always to develop a community based service which is person-centred and available for as long as an individual need it. Outside of work, Elissa has a growing family and enjoys running and yoga. |
Jane Cast- Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist MCSP Jane completed her training at King’s College, London, before choosing to specialise in Adult Neurology. She has since gained extensive experience working in both NHS and private sectors, within acute, rehabilitation and community settings. She has specialised in the management and treatment of stroke, undertaking further training in the Bobath approach to an Advanced level and completed the Bridges self-management programme. Jane is committed to enabling individuals to reach their goals at the highest level possible through targeted support and intervention. Family life ,Yoga,triathlon, travel and walking are Jane’s passions outside of her work. |
Clare Proctor Associate Physiotherapist MCSP Clare completed her physiotherapy degree at the University of East Anglia in 2012, during this time developing a passion for neurological rehabilitation and a special interest in Parkinson's Disease. Since then she has worked for the NHS in a Community Neuro Rehab Team and on a community rehab ward before working alongside Elissa and Jane. She has completed PD Warrior level 2 and is undertaking level 3. |
Zoe Dale - Associate Physiotherapist MCSP Zoe has joined the team with valuable experience of treating neurological clients. Her work also includes a part time role for the local NHS Stroke Rehabilitation Team Zoe is passionate about enabling clients to be as independent as mobile as they can having supported her own grandmother through this journey for many years |
Simon Roll - Therapy Assistant Simon studied Sports Science at Canterbury Christ Church and has since qualified as a Personal Trainer in London. He has worked within the NHS as a Physio Assistant, specialising in delivering bespoke exercise classes to elderly clients in care homes and in doing so have developed a passion for improving mobility. Simon has a love of rock music, enjoys playing basketball and practicing general fitness. |
Claire Hutton - Physiotherapy Assistant Claire graduated with a Bachelors in Sports and Exercise Science from Canterbury Christ Church. Alongside her degree, she continued her interest in an holistic approach to the science of the body and is a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist. Her introduction to NeuroRehabKent has broadened further her knowledge as a physiotherapist assistant and it has inspired her to pursue a Masters as a Neuro physiotherapist. Claire’s hobbies include hiking, archery and football. |
Becky Puckett - Associate Occupational Therapist Becky has worked with those with neurological conditions her whole career. She has worked across the acute NHS, private rehabilitation hospitals, and in the community helping people to enhance their independence in different ways. Becky’s areas of special interest include cognitive rehabilitation, visual assessment and rehabilitation, and upper limb function. Manju Abraham-Associate Physiotherapist MCSP Manju joins us with a wealth of knowledge in treating neurological conditions gained through her time working at an in patient neuro rehab unit in Kent. Manju enjoys the challenges and rewards of the rehab journey she embarks on with her clients as well as helping to make their lives more independent and enjoyable. |

Dr Sam Chong
Sam is a Consultant Neurologist at The National Hospitals for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square London and Darent Valley Hospital in Kent. Apart from his practise in general neurology, he has specialist interest in managing patients with Headaches and Chronic Pain: especially Neuropathic and Facial Pain. He has been working with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and was a member of the Guideline Development Group for Management of Headaches published in 2012 and for Neuropathic Pain 2013. |
Vickey Petrie - Speech and Language Therapist
Vickey is a highly specialised Therapist with over seventeen years' experience. Her early career started within the departments of two leading London hospitals, providing acute care for adults with both Neurological and ENT disorders. She later moved into the neurorehabilitation of individuals as they transitioned from hospital to their homes across South-West London and Kent. Drawing on her experiences within this transitory stage, she began to look at ways of providing a more personal and bespoke service. Central to this was a core belief that therapy effectiveness stems from meaningful and tailored rehabilitation packages, not just for individuals but also their families and broader support networks. www.softlyspoken.co.uk |
Jo Dufton- Occupational Therapist
Jo have worked as an occupational therapist since graduating in 1990 from Exeter school of occupational therapy and she is also registered as a case manager with the Case Management Society UK. She has extensive experience from working in the NHS and social services. As an occupational therapist her role is to help people overcome the effects of disability caused by injury, ageing, physical or psychological illness. Her aim is to find out why a person cannot do what they would like or need to do and assist them in finding solutions to maximise their independence and function. Her role covers a whole range of needs starting from the minute you get up in the morning to going to bed at night and may include anything from washing to wheelchairs, cooking to carers, gardens to gadgets, dressing to dog walking, technology to toileting or social support to seating.
